Job Requirements

  • Previous cook experience in a restaurant environment
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Basic ability to read and write
  • Must be able to understand basic math for recipe preparation

Job Duties

  • Complete opening checklists
  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
  • Prepare a variety of meats, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking using ovens, stock pot burners, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
  • Consistently comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
  • Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
  • Assume 100% responsibility for quality of food prepared
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, ovens, fryers, stock pot burners, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
  • Promptly report equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager
  • Inform Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages
  • Use Standard Recipe Book for preparing all products
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager on duty
  • Follow handwash policy
