Their operations encompass a wide variety of hospitality sectors including fine dining restaurants, cultural institutions, and major sporting events, highlighting their versatility and dedication to high-quality service.
For the upcoming PGA Championships, Patina Restaurant Group is seeking diligent and experienced Cooks to join its dynamic team. This is a temporary employment opportunity centered around a major sporting event, where culinary excellence and teamwork are paramount. The role is a full-time position spanning eight consecutive days with a structured schedule that requires availability and commitment. The scheduled working hours start on Sunday, May 10, with sessions from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by Monday through Friday, May 11 to May 15, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, then Saturday, May 16, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, concluding on Sunday, May 17, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, there is an incentive bonus offered to those who complete all eight days punctually without calling off.
In this position, cooks will play an integral role in food preparation and kitchen operations for one of the most prestigious golf championships. The job involves preparing food according to strict specifications and recipes, ensuring portion control, maintaining food quality, and adhering to health and safety standards. Cooks will utilize a range of kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, grills, ovens, and steamers to deliver timely and high-quality food service. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of workstations and kitchen equipment is crucial.
Successful candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills to coordinate with the screening team and kitchen staff, comply with portion and waste control guidelines, and document inventory and spoilage accurately. The role demands physical endurance due to the requirement of standing and walking for extended periods, manual dexterity for intricate food preparation tasks, and the ability to safely lift heavy kitchen pans and equipment.
This opportunity is ideal for those with at least six months of experience in a back-of-house kitchen or food service role, possessing the capability to comprehend recipes and prep sheets, basic math skills relevant to measuring and scaling ingredients, and readiness to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-noise and elevated temperature environment. The position offers an exciting chance to be part of a high-profile event, work alongside a professional kitchen team, and enhance culinary skills under demanding conditions.
