The position available is for a Cook at the Cumberland County jail in Portland. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, scheduled from 3:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Tuesday through Saturday. The hourly pay rate is $23.43. This role is essential in ensuring that meals served at the jail meet safety and quality standards, providing administrative and operational support in meal preparation and general purchasing functions. The selected candidate will supervise the preparation of meals, oversee staff involved in cooking duties, and ensure compliance with all standards relating to safe food handling and preparation.

The ideal candidate will have a high school education or equivalent and at least one year of experience in institutional meal planning and preparation. A thorough understanding of safe food practices and relevant certifications, such as ServSafe, are vital.
