The Cook CD – Standard position at HMSHost offers an exciting opportunity to join a team passionate about quality and customer satisfaction. This role involves preparing cooked foods and ensuring high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation. Candidates will work across various kitchen stations including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and egg cooking areas, mastering a wide range of culinary techniques. The role requires excellent communication skills to coordinate ticket times and address any service challenges promptly with management and serving staff. This position is non-exempt and reports directly to Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager, depending on the location.
As a Cook CD – Standard at HMSHost, individuals will follow precise recipes and product directions to prepare a variety of dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food and beverage items. The role requires tasting and quality checking food products, planning production requirements, and maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of workstations and equipment, adhering strictly to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards to ensure food safety is crucial. The role involves using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, preparing ingredients like washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, and responsibly managing stock by dating, rotating, and temperature checking.

Job Requirements
- food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry food preparation
- ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
- ability to converse comfortably with individuals
- ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
- frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
- frequently works with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
- frequently works in hot environment

Job Duties
