The Cook CD - Skilled will also be tasked with estimating food requirements, monitoring production, maintaining records, and requisitioning supplies and equipment to support kitchen operations efficiently.

Cleaning and sanitizing work stations and equipment is essential to maintain food safety and hygiene. The Cook must competently operate kitchen equipment, measure and mix ingredients, and prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding. Additional duties include the proper storage of food products by stocking, dating, rotating, and temperature checking to ensure freshness and safety. Occasionally, other related responsibilities may be assigned based on the associate’s abilities and business needs, making adaptability and a willingness to learn important attributes for this role.

  • Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
  • Frequently works with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
  • Frequently works in hot environment

Job Duties

  • Follows recipes and or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items which may include soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food and beverage products
  • Tastes products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed
  • Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment
  • Practices excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complies with HACCP standards
  • Operates a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Measures and mixes ingredients, washes, peels, cuts and shreds fruits and vegetables
  • Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
  • Other duties as assigned
