We are currently hiring on-call Catering Prep Cooks for the Fall semester at the University of Texas at Dallas located at 800 West Campbell Road, Richardson, TX. This is an on-call position, meaning the schedule is flexible and based on operational needs; applicants must be able to adjust hours accordingly. The role offers a pay range of $18.00 to $21.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of skilled culinary preparation in delivering high-quality catering services. As a Catering Prep Cook, you will play a critical role in preparing food items according to established recipes and production schedules that align with health and safety standards. The role requires previous prep cook experience, with catering experience preferred, and focuses on maintaining food quality, efficient service, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements
- Prep cook experience required
- Catering experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours on an on-call basis
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Available to work during the Fall semester at University of Texas at Dallas
- Willingness to comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
- Ability to follow direction and complete required documentation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience as a prep cook required
- Experience in catering preferred
- Familiarity with food safety standards and HACCP guidelines
- Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods
Job Duties
- Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the chef
- Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
- Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- Taste completed meals to ensure quality
- Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
- Store, label, and date all food items according to policy
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply
- Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
- Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
- Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
- Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
- Resolve customer concerns
- Perform other duties as assigned
