Job Requirements
- Grade XII education
- English-as-a-Additional Language (EAL) Level 6 required
- certificate from a recognized cooking school or two years experience with excellent references working as a cook or relief cook in the Simkin Centre
- valid food handler certificate
- minimum of two years relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
- experience in a cook chill production environment

Job Duties
- Cook menu items for all diets in specified quantities as per production sheets
- follow all guidelines pertaining to Cook Chill production strictly
- comply with Jewish dietary laws as determined by the Simkin Centre
- maintain ingredient and portion control according to standardized recipes
- supervise and replace dietary staff in the absence of the Food Services Manager or designate
- perform all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures
- lift 50 pounds using appropriate lifting techniques
- perform other duties as assigned
