Ecumen Lakeshore is a distinguished nonprofit senior living community located at the serene intersection of 40th Avenue East and London Road in Duluth, Minnesota. Nestled alongside the picturesque shores of Lake Superior, this campus offers a tranquil and scenic environment that enhances the living experience for its residents. Job Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures including Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Commercial kitchen experience preferred
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment preferred
  • Previous senior care experience preferred
  • Serv Safe certification or equivalent preferred
  • Certified Food Protection Manager preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide exemplary service to residents, families, and guests ensuring all feel welcome
  • Prep, prepare, cook and serve meals to residents, families, guests and employees
  • Properly operate and maintain all equipment in the food preparation area
  • Report production shortages and overages to supervisor immediately
  • Follow recipes accurately and convert recipes for various group sizes
  • Maintain adequate inventory of food and supplies, notifying supervisor if shortages occur
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and efficiently organized work area
  • Assist with stocking and labeling groceries ensuring fresh inventory
  • Partner with department leaders to support facility special events with adequate product and labor
  • Ensure residents with special diets receive appropriate foods and accommodate requests promptly
  • Demonstrate proper safety and sanitation techniques
  • Support all employees within the community as directed by leadership
  • Perform other duties as assigned
