Recognized as a community-based organization, Sea Mar proudly embraces inclusivity by providing services to all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, or ability to pay. Their extensive network includes over 90 clinics that offer medical, dental, and behavioral health services, complemented by a broad range of nutritional, social, and educational support programs. This commitment reflects Sea Mar's mission to foster healthier communities by addressing the multifaceted needs of those they serve.

The Prep Cook position at Sea Mar Community Health Centers plays a crucial role within the kitchen team by assisting in the preparation of nutritious regular and therapeutic meals for residents. This role extends to supporting the preparation of food for special events and catering functions, ensuring that all meals are prepared with attention to dietary requirements and quality standards. Working at Sea Mar means aligning with an organization that holds core values rooted in respect, dignity, integrity, compassion, and social justice. Employees embody these principles daily to enhance the client experience and uphold Sea Mar's reputation as a leader in culturally competent, client-centered care.

In this role, the Prep Cook will contribute to the meal service process by preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, sack lunches, snacks, salads, and desserts according to standardized recipes and designated menus. The position involves supporting tray line operations and serving residents as needed, while also taking part in general dishwashing, cleaning, and dining area upkeep tasks. The Prep Cook helps maintain an organized and sanitary environment, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines. This position requires collaboration within the team, participation in organizational events, and a commitment to ongoing learning to keep pace with industry best practices. The Prep Cook will be expected to follow organizational protocols for COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, with considerations for medical and religious exemptions where applicable.

Sea Mar offers this position as an hourly role with compensation at $21.16 per hour, and the opportunity to work within a supportive, mission-driven environment that values diversity and employee well-being. Employees benefit from comprehensive health coverage, retirement options, paid time off, and ample opportunities for career growth and professional development.
