Job Description

Liberty Senior Living is a compassionate and dedicated senior living community committed to providing exceptional care and quality of life for its residents. As part of the Liberty Cares initiative, this organization strives to create a nurturing environment where seniors feel respected, valued, and supported. Liberty Senior Living combines experienced caregiving with personalized services that cater to the unique needs of each resident, ensuring comfort, dignity, and the highest standard of living. With an emphasis on both physical well-being and emotional health, the community offers a variety of amenities and programs designed to enrich residents’ daily lives and foster a vibrant, engaging atmosphere.

Currently, Liberty Senior Living is seeking an experienced Cook to join their culinary team. This full-time position is essential in supporting the community’s mission to deliver excellent dining experiences that enhance residents’ nutrition and enjoyment. The Cook’s role encompasses preparing quality meals following established recipes and menus while also accommodating special dietary needs and preferences. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, strong knowledge of food safety practices, and the ability to collaborate closely with kitchen staff and the Executive Chef.

The Cook will be responsible for food production tasks such as following recipes and sometimes modifying them, preparing meals that maintain nutrition and flavor, and adjusting to special requests or dietary restrictions such as allergies. Monitoring inventory and reporting any shortages or overproduction are key components of the role, helping to manage kitchen resources efficiently. Food safety is paramount in every aspect of the cook’s responsibilities—from safe food handling to sanitation and temperature control—to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and compliance are maintained consistently.

Creating a positive dining atmosphere for residents is another important aspect of the job. The Cook helps promote the independence and satisfaction of the senior residents by ensuring that meals are appetizing, well-presented, and tailored to their preferences where possible. Interacting with residents to gather feedback and relay it to supervisors fosters continuous improvement in food quality and customer experience.

Additionally, this position involves general kitchen maintenance duties such as cleaning, sanitizing, monitoring equipment, and assisting with special event meal preparations. The Cook is also expected to support teamwork and communication within the department and throughout the whole facility, upholding the core values of Liberty Cares. Emergency preparedness and safety procedures require the Cook’s participation, including assisting with resident evacuations if necessary.

Successful candidates will have at least a high school diploma and two or more years of restaurant or kitchen experience. The ability to operate standard kitchen equipment and participate actively in training sessions and departmental meetings is required. Liberty Senior Living values employees who demonstrate technical competence in culinary services, an eagerness to implement improvements, and a commitment to the wellbeing of their senior residents.

Working at Liberty Senior Living offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a caring senior community while developing one’s culinary career in a supportive environment. Those interested in joining this mission-driven team are encouraged to visit www.libertyseniorliving.com for more information about the organization and the application process.
