Job Requirements

letter or letters of recommendation two recent letters of recommendation
ability to perform cooking and baking tasks in a school cafeteria environment
ability to work in conditions subject to heat noise lifting and standing
willingness to be considered a disaster service worker or essential worker during emergency crisis or pandemic
completion of application form in full

Job Qualifications

two years of experience in preparing and serving large quantities of foods including cooking and baking a wide variety of food items
knowledge of food handling techniques kitchen sanitation and safety precautions
ability to operate kitchen appliances
ability to prepare and maintain records
ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
ability to maintain cooperative working relationships
ability to read and write at the level necessary to perform the duties

Job Duties

cook or bake a wide variety of foods such as sweet rolls buns breads cakes pies spaghetti pizza vegetables and main course meats
estimate quantities needed and prepare ingredients for cooking or baking
assist in ordering supplies by recording usage and indicating needed supplies
stock serving counters and serve foods
maintain records on the number of items sold
clean ovens grills and food preparation areas
operate grills ovens steamers stoves and mixers
coordinate the work of other food service employees in cooking and baking
inventory order and store food and cafeteria supplies
perform other related duties as assigned
