Job Requirements

Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
Strong desire to make a difference in children’s lives
Knowledge of food allergy considerations and safe food handling
Willingness to complete required documentation
At least one year of relevant cooking experience

Job Qualifications

Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain
At least one year of institutional cooking experience
Familiarity with food storage and cross-contamination prevention
Ability to follow nutritionist-developed menus
Basic math skills for measuring and serving portions
Two or more years working with children preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Duties

Prepare healthy and tasty meals and snacks for children following established menus
Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically
Order food and supplies in a timely manner
Dispense and store medication as requested
Complete timely and accurate documentation according to regulations
Assist with other daily center duties as needed
Partner with center staff and leadership to support enrollment, accreditation, and engagement goals
