Job Description

KinderCare Learning Companies is a leading provider in early childhood education and child care, celebrated as the first and only early childhood education organization honored with the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award. Operating more than 2,000 sites and centers across 40 states and the District of Columbia, KinderCare offers comprehensive child care programs through its well-recognized brands, including KinderCare Learning Centers, Champions, and Crème de la Crème. The company is dedicated to building confidence and shaping the future for children and families by delivering high-quality education and care in welcoming neighborhood settings nationwide.

As an employer, KinderCare is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where educators and staff can thrive in their roles. The organization values its teachers, center staff, and field leaders as the core of its success. Employees are supported with various benefits and a strong community network, making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families every day.

The role of Cook at KinderCare Learning Companies is a critical position focused on preparing nutritious, delicious meals and snacks tailored for young children. This role requires following thoughtfully crafted menus and recipes developed by KinderCare's in-house nutritionist to ensure children receive balanced meals that support their growth and learning. Beyond cooking, the role includes maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety, managing inventory through food ordering, and ensuring appropriate food storage to prevent cross-contamination, especially for children with allergies.

A successful Cook will work closely with center staff and leadership to support overall center operations, help meet enrollment goals, and contribute to the center's accreditation and community engagement efforts. The Cook plays a vital part in the daily life of the center, not only by fueling young learners but also by supporting broader center activities as needed.

This full-time position requires at least one year of institutional cooking experience, with a preference for those who have food ordering knowledge and have worked with children for two or more years. Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds and basic computer proficiency are also necessary to perform job duties effectively. The candidate must be able to communicate clearly in English to interact with children, parents, and teams. Holding or obtaining a Food Handler's License is required.

Choosing to join KinderCare means contributing to a mission that values every child and family, regardless of background or location. The role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an organization that combines research-backed educational philosophy and compassionate care to influence the future positively. If you are passionate about making a difference in early childhood development and want to enjoy a supportive work community with excellent benefits, KinderCare Learning Companies invites you to apply and grow with them.
