Job Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
- Strong desire to make a difference in children’s lives
- Knowledge of food allergy considerations and safe food handling
- Willingness to complete required documentation
- At least one year of relevant cooking experience
Job Qualifications
- Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain
- At least one year of institutional cooking experience
- Familiarity with food storage and cross-contamination prevention
- Ability to follow nutritionist-developed menus
- Basic math skills for measuring and serving portions
- Two or more years working with children preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Job Duties
- Prepare healthy and tasty meals and snacks for children following established menus
- Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically
- Order food and supplies in a timely manner
- Dispense and store medication as requested
- Complete timely and accurate documentation according to regulations
- Assist with other daily center duties as needed
- Partner with center staff and leadership to support enrollment, accreditation, and engagement goals
