The role of Cook at Aramark is much more than just food preparation; it is a chance to bring creativity into the kitchen, experiment with diverse cuisines and cooking techniques, and contribute to providing high-quality meals that exceed guest expectations. The Cook will work closely with fresh ingredients and professional-grade equipment to prepare a variety of food products by following standardized recipes and adhering strictly to production guidelines. Your daily activities will include setting up your workstation with needed ingredients and equipment, measuring and preparing food items such as chopping, mixing, peelling, and trimming, and safely operating kitchen tools and machinery including ovens, stoves, mixers, and slicers. Cooking methods can range from baking and roasting to steaming and broiling across meats, vegetables, and other dishes. Presentation skills are important as you will arrange and garnish food items beautifully following established portion guidelines. Beyond the kitchen tasks, maintaining a clean, sanitized work environment is also a critical aspect of the role.

Strong communication skills and a positive attitude toward coworkers and customers are essential, as is the ability to comply with security and safety policies within the workplace. This position may also entail physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods, in addition to potentially wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of food preparation basics and safety regulations
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • good interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification

  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
