The position of Substitute Cook Assistant at HOPES CAP, Inc. is an essential role within the Early Childhood Program, tasked with supporting the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to children. This on-call, per diem role ensures that the food services department can continue to meet USDA and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines even during staff absences, maintaining reliable meal service quality and safety standards. As a Substitute Cook Assistant, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that children receive balanced, delicious meals that meet stringent nutritional requirements.

In this role, you will assist with the entire meal service process, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Responsibilities include meal preparation, food setup, and cleanup duties, all performed with strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols. Moreover, you will help inspect food deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality, manage kitchen inventory, and support engaging nutrition activities that promote healthy eating habits among children and their families. The role demands a combination of physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
