Job Requirements

  • Two to three years of experience in food preparation and general maintenance in a kitchen or dining area or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficient to carry out job duties
  • skill in interacting effectively with guests and team members
  • skill in adding and subtracting whole numbers, decimals, and fractions
  • ability to measure dry and liquid food ingredients
  • skill in operating kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, grills, fryers, and steamers
  • knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • time management and organizational skills
  • culinary knowledge of food inventory, recipes, menus, and production methods
  • ability to provide team leadership to one or more Senior Food Service Workers and Food Service Workers
  • ability to lead small teams of 2-5 people collaboratively
  • ability to complete and maintain paperwork accurately
  • high school diploma preferred
  • must be 18 years or older
  • completion of satisfactory background check and physical examination
  • successful completion of a reading comprehension test
  • live scan background check required

Job Duties

  • Prepare food and maintain kitchen areas
  • operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, food processors, pizza ovens, and gas ranges
  • measure food ingredients accurately
  • adhere to sanitation and safety procedures
  • provide team leadership to a small group of workers
  • complete and maintain records including temperature logs
  • plan daily production schedules
