Join Team Atlantis as a skilled and experienced Cook specializing in Asian cuisine at our renowned buffet. In this role, you will focus on the Chinese cuisine section while also preparing dishes from a variety of Asian culinary traditions, including Japanese, Thai, Korean, and Vietnamese. Your expertise in authentic Asian cooking techniques, flavors, and ingredients will be essential in maintaining the highest quality and presentation standards. The position requires a culinary professional who can create diverse, flavorful, and visually appealing dishes that delight our guests and elevate their buffet dining experience.
This role involves collaboration with a dynamic kitchen team where you will participate in efficient food production and delivery, ensuring that every meal is consistent in taste, appearance, and portion size. You will apply various cooking methods such as grilling, frying, sautéing, baking, and roasting—adjusting these techniques based on ingredient freshness and guest preferences. The Cook will be expected not only to prepare high-quality dishes but also to assist with inventory management, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste. Job Duties
- Prepare and present a diverse range of Asian dishes including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, and Vietnamese cuisine
- follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety and quality
- collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to ensure efficient production and timely service
- utilize various cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, sautéing, baking, and roasting to create flavorful dishes
- adjust cooking methods and timings based on ingredient freshness and guest preferences
- execute menu items with precision maintaining consistency in taste, appearance, and portion size
- monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or excesses
- taste and evaluate dishes for flavor, seasoning, and quality
- implement corrective actions when necessary
- work closely with kitchen staff to coordinate cooking times
- participate in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
- adhere to hygiene, health, and safety standards including proper use of equipment
- keep workstations clean and organized
- manage multiple orders simultaneously ensuring timely completion
