Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience
  • previous kitchen cooking experience
  • ability to work with older adults preferred
  • sufficient hearing and visual abilities to comprehend communication
  • ability to stand, walk, bend or stoop extensively
  • ability to lift 15 to 20 pounds using proper body mechanics

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience working in a kitchen in a cooking capacity

Job Duties

  • Report for work when scheduled, on time and in uniform
  • follow all safe food handling procedures
  • check all cooler and freezer temperatures
  • fill steam wells with water
  • turn on steam wells, heat lamp, plate warmer and hot box
  • turn on equipment as needed
  • prepare breakfast food items before 7:30 a.m.
  • keep breakfast line replenished with fresh food while beginning lunch preparation
  • pull food from service line after breakfast, wrap, label and refrigerate
  • clean the service line
  • finish lunch preparation and have food on service line before 11:30 a.m.
  • prepare special orders
  • maintain lunch line with fresh food while beginning cleaning duties
  • pull food from service line after lunch, wrap, label and refrigerate
  • clean the service line
  • pull food product from freezer for next day
  • order produce
  • check with chef before leaving
  • perform any other jobs as assigned
  • clean stove top
  • scrape down flat-top
  • wipe out steamer
  • clean prep tables
  • wipe down bottles and spices
  • complete daily and weekly cleaning duties
  • perform any other cleaning duties as assigned
