The role of Cook at Aramark offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about the culinary arts to bring their creativity and cooking skills to life in a supportive environment. The job involves preparing, cooking, and presenting food items in line with standardized recipes and established food safety standards.
Cooks at Aramark will be responsible for setting up workstations, measuring and preparing ingredients, safely handling utensils and kitchen equipment, applying different cooking methods such as baking, roasting, steaming, and broiling, and ensuring the food is garnished and portioned correctly. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of both the work area and equipment is vital. Additionally, cooks will provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management, fostering a positive atmosphere in the kitchen.
In this role, physical stamina is important as there may be the need to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are typically required for safety reasons. Candidates should be capable of acquiring food safety certification and have validated knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations. Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
- properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- ensures security of company assets
