Aramark is currently seeking passionate and skilled Cooks to join their team. This position offers an hourly wage of $17.00, reflecting Aramark's commitment to fair compensation and employee satisfaction. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in bringing recipes to life by preparing a variety of food items using fresh ingredients and the best kitchen equipment. The Cook will be responsible for setting up their workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment, preparing ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items. They will safely use various utensils, including knives, and operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. Cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming will be used to prepare meats, vegetables, and other foods. In addition to food preparation, the Cook will arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines, ensuring that presentation and portion control meet company standards.

Food safety and sanitation are critical aspects of this role. The Cook is expected to properly store food, maintain cleanliness by sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils, and follow safety policies to ensure a healthy working environment. Maintaining excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers is essential. The position may require the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to clothing or uniform guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and/or stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
  • Commitment to follow safety and sanitation procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.

  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
