You will work with standardized recipes and production guidelines, preparing ingredients precisely by measuring, chopping, trimming, and mixing. You will also engage in multiple cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to create well-prepared meals. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the work area is essential, as is following company safety policies to ensure a secure working environment. A strong emphasis is placed on excellent customer service skills and a positive demeanor toward coworkers and guests. Physical demands of the role may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
