Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED or equivalent
- US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner's Document with Able Bodied Seaman special, limited or unlimited endorsement
- steward's department endorsement
- valid driver's license
- completion of culinary schooling with two years meal preparation experience preferred
- current TB clearance
- ability to prepare nutritional and well-balanced meals
- ability to operate basic hand and hand held power tools
- three years underway galley experience preferred
- sufficient verbal, reading and writing skills to follow instructions and coordinate tasks
- physical ability to climb, lift, carry and perform deckhand duties
- attention to detail and safety awareness
Job Qualifications

- valid driver's license

Job Duties
- Prepare meals for crew members
- prepare store list and review with Captain
- shop for stores
- maintain monthly budget
- perform general maintenance in galley and on vessel including needle gunning and painting
- perform sanitary duties in galley
- perform seaman/deckhand duties such as handling lines, tow wires, setting blocks, lifting and securing bridles
- assist Chief Engineer/Engineer in engine room
- perform duties as assigned
