The role of a Cook at Arrow Senior Living, specifically at the Holliday Farms location in Zionsville, IN, is a full-time opportunity offering a competitive pay range of $23 to $29 per hour. The cook position works Tuesday through Saturday, from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, providing an excellent schedule for individuals who appreciate consistency and a balanced workweek. This role is essential in maintaining the health and satisfaction of residents through quality food preparation and adherence to critical healthcare food safety standards. The successful candidate will act as a Culinary Craftsman, preparing menu items according to established recipes and standards to ensure timely and appealing meal presentations. Job Requirements

  • at least eighteen 18 years of age
  • able to read write understand and communicate in English
  • possess a valid Food Handlers Card
  • demonstrated competency in leadership training and supervision
  • proficient communication skills
  • physically able to perform the duties required including standing walking bending kneeling stooping
  • ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • tolerate extreme temperatures
  • able to work indoors and outdoors
  • must be criminally cleared

Job Qualifications

  • must be at least eighteen 18 years of age
  • able to read write understand and communicate in English with residents
  • possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health
  • demonstrated skills knowledge and competency in leadership training and supervision
  • proficient written and oral communication skills with management professional and support staff
  • physically able to perform standing walking bending kneeling and stooping all day
  • able to frequently lift and or move items up to 50 pounds
  • comfortable working in close contact with extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk in freezers
  • able to work primarily indoors and available to work outside for events
  • must be criminally cleared

Job Duties

  • prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion
  • ensure health protocols are always followed including proper hygiene sanitary food preparation and proper food temperatures
  • familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs participate in resident orientations
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
  • assist with kitchen inventory and stock management
  • collaborate with management and other staff to ensure smooth dining service operations
