Job Description
Hyatt is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its award-winning resorts and hotels, consistently celebrated for excellence and exceptional guest experiences. Among its distinguished properties are Mission Pacific, recognized as the number one hotel in California and the Continental United States, and The Seabird, which has earned the rank of number three in California. These accolades are a testament to Hyatt's commitment to quality, luxury, and outstanding service. The company's resorts offer breathtaking, unobstructed ocean views and a dynamic work environment that combines beauty with professionalism. Hyatt is dedicated to nurturing a diverse and inclusive workplace where every team member can thrive and contribute to memorable guest experiences. This full-time, onsite opportunity is part of the culinary team at The Café, within one of Hyatt's premier resorts. The Cook 4 role is vital to the daily operations of the kitchen, providing leadership, consistency, and quality in food production. This position requires an individual who possesses in-depth culinary skills, knowledge of kitchen operations, and the ability to uphold Hyatt's high standards of guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have previous line cook experience, preferably in breakfast and lunch service, and demonstrate the capability to produce consistent and high-quality culinary products. Beyond cooking, this role involves monitoring food production, quality, staffing levels, and training within the kitchen. It demands strong communication skills, culinary education, cost control acumen, computer proficiency, organizational abilities, guest interaction experience, and the skill to teach and guide others in the kitchen. In the absence of the Sous Chef, this cook will provide direction and leadership to ensure seamless kitchen operations. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $24.00 to $25.00, reflecting the level of expertise and responsibility required. Hyatt supports its colleagues with a very competitive benefits package, which includes complimentary hotel room nights worldwide, discounted rates for friends and family, bereavement and jury duty pay, leave options for vacation, sick days, and new child care, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, a 401K retirement savings plan with employer match, an employee stock purchase plan, complimentary employee meals, and much more. This role is an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to grow their careers within a reputable, award-winning hospitality brand while working in an inspiring oceanfront setting.
