The Cook 3 PM position at The Apron, located within Omni PGA Frisco Resort, plays a crucial role in delivering a superior culinary experience to guests. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking food in adherence to precise menu specifications, ensuring quality, flavor, and presentation meet the high standards expected by Omni Hotels & Resorts. The Cook 3 PM will be part of a dynamic kitchen team, working collaboratively with other culinary personnel and leadership to maintain efficient kitchen operations and elevate guest satisfaction.

This role demands a solid grasp of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and health standards to ensure safety and excellence in food preparation. The individual must execute tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining speed, accuracy, and attention to detail. Responsibilities include preparing a variety of dishes, maintaining mise en place, following recipes accurately, and helping to stock and set up cooking stations. The Cook 3 PM is expected to uphold professional culinary attire and demeanor, demonstrating the pride and skill that Omni Hotels & Resorts embodies.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of culinary experience in relevant environments
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of health department guidelines
  • ServeSafe certification preferred
  • Positive attitude and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of food handling and cooking techniques including braising, saute, baking, roasting, poaching, grilling, steaming, and frying
  • Fundamental knife skills
  • Ability to read and execute basic recipes
  • Basic math skills for measurements
  • Good eye-hand coordination
  • Prior experience in high volume hotel, upscale hotel or resort, restaurant, or catering
  • Familiarity with bulk preparation preferred
  • One year of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal sanitation standards
  • ServeSafe certification preferred
  • Ability to work varied shifts
  • Professional culinary attire and attitude
