Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of culinary experience in relevant environments
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Good communication skills
- Understanding of health department guidelines
- ServeSafe certification preferred
- Positive attitude and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- Good knowledge of food handling and cooking techniques including braising, saute, baking, roasting, poaching, grilling, steaming, and frying
- Fundamental knife skills
- Ability to read and execute basic recipes
- Basic math skills for measurements
- Good eye-hand coordination
- Prior experience in high volume hotel, upscale hotel or resort, restaurant, or catering
- Familiarity with bulk preparation preferred
- One year of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal sanitation standards
- ServeSafe certification preferred
- Ability to work varied shifts
- Professional culinary attire and attitude
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food according to menu specifications
- Taste and season food appropriately
- Demonstrate strong culinary skills with intermediate proficiency
- Work with minimal supervision and some guidance
- Maintain knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen procedures
- Perform opening and closing kitchen procedures
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods
- Maintain positive and professional attitude with coworkers and guests
- Follow recipe cards and prep lists accurately
- Set up and stock kitchen stations
- Execute soups and sauces with minimal supervision
- Ensure food quality and timely delivery
- Adhere to health and safety standards
- Use kitchen equipment properly and safely
- Prioritize and organize kitchen tasks
