Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • minimum of three years’ cooking experience in a commercial kitchen
  • current Food Handlers card
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • effective verbal communication skills
  • ability to think critically, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment
  • demonstrate initiative and take responsibility for decisions and actions
  • self-motivated and proactive team player with attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Work and master all kitchen stations
  • ensure superior standards of service meet the requirements of guests and employees
  • proactively exceed guest satisfaction by quickly responding to and resolving challenges
  • follow daily cleaning schedule and checklist to maintain a clean and sanitary environment
  • prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding vegetables and fruits
  • measure and mix ingredients according to recipes to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles
  • bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods with precise temperature regulation
  • observe and test foods by tasting, smelling, and visually inspecting
  • carve meats and portion food on serving plates with appropriate garnishes
  • perform other duties as assigned
