The Cook 3 (Part Time) position at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale is an exciting entry-level opportunity designed for individuals eager to develop their culinary skills within a luxury hotel environment. The role primarily involves supporting kitchen operations by preparing food items according to specific recipes and production standards, managing station setup before meal periods, and assisting on the line during service. The successful candidate will be trained on operating various kitchen equipment such as fryers, broilers, ovens, mixers, and more, ensuring food safety standards and efficiency in all preparation tasks. They will also play an important role in inventory management tasks like food container dating, rotation, and controlling food waste, all critical to maintaining the resort’s standards of quality and cost control. Job Requirements

  • High school education preferred culinary education or equivalent experience
  • minimum 1 year culinary school or related work experience
  • basic culinary knowledge
  • ability to operate all kitchen machinery
  • proficient knife skills
  • ability to multitask and operate in a fast paced environment
  • ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per shift
  • valid Maricopa County food handler's card

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items per guest orders of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards
  • complete mis en place and set-up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service
  • start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not prepare beyond estimated needs
  • operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment, including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
  • date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures
  • check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
  • note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
  • return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables
  • assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems
  • control food waste, loss and usage per policies
