The On-Call Adorn Cook position at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago is an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who are passionate about delivering quality, innovative cuisine with enthusiasm. This role requires a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask effectively, and adapts to schedule flexibility including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with required PM availability. As part of the Food & Beverage team, the On-Call Adorn Cook is responsible for preparing specialized dishes to exacting standards of quality and sanitation while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and collaboration with fellow team members are essential to ensure timely delivery and presentation of menu items.

Ideal candidates will have keen culinary skills, a passion for food service, and readiness to support various kitchen stations as needed. The role also demands excellent communication with supervisors and peers, adherence to food safety procedures, and the ability to manage inventory, set up and break down cooking stations, and address guest dietary needs or special requests professionally. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • PM availability required
  • Valid work authorization for the U.S.
  • Ability to maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle kitchen equipment safely

Job Duties

  • Maintain good working relationships with other employees providing encouragement as needed
  • Make requisitions of all items needed for the next day with assistance of sous chef on duty
  • Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Maintain temperature and HACCP logs as required
  • Communicate with sous chefs and executive sous chef regarding menu items, problem situations or shortages
  • Ensure adequate supply of materials for the shift and replenish needed items
  • Set up the station by obtaining equipment and materials needed preparing all items for service
  • Prepare and plate all items received from computer system in timely and accurate manner
  • Properly break down the station by storing foods properly and labeling them
  • Listen to customer complaints, special requests, dietary requirements and suggestions and resolve accordingly
  • Handle and report any accident immediately
  • Conduct oneself in professional manner to reflect high standards of Four Seasons
  • Respond properly in hotel emergency or safety situations
  • Follow guidelines for timely food service using Four Seasons Food Standards
  • Multi-task with high attention to detail in a loud, fast paced environment
  • Operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicers, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
  • Support other kitchens and stations during shifts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
