The Cook role at Sunrise Senior Living is an essential position responsible for ensuring the timely preparation and high-quality production of meals that meet both resident preferences and dietary requirements. This role involves using established recipes and food safety standards to deliver meals that are nutritious, delicious, and safely served each day. In addition to food production, the Cook supports kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and equipment maintenance, playing a key role in maintaining a safe and orderly food service environment. By effectively managing all food production duties in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator, the Cook helps guarantee uninterrupted service and resident satisfaction.
Beyond meal preparation, the Cook participates in a team-oriented environment committed to the organization’s mission and values of respecting the sacredness of human life. Responsibilities include recording accurate food production data, managing dietary modifications, and maintaining strict compliance with health regulations. Job Requirements
- One year job related experience including food preparation in a restaurant, hotel, or other similar environment
- High School Diploma/GED
- CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate
- ServSafe Manager Certificate
- Local Health Department Food Handler Card
- Prior culinary apprenticeship or training a plus
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
