Job Requirements

  • Completion of eighth grade education
  • One to two years cooking experience in a large food service operation
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen machinery
  • Ability to read menus, work schedules, and prices
  • Possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively with hospital patients, visitors, and staff
  • Availability for evening and rotating shifts including weekends
  • Compliance with drug-free workplace policy

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of eighth grade education

  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment and machinery
  • Ability to read and follow instructions

Job Duties

  • Prepare, season, and cook food for hospital patients, employees, and visitors
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Operate manual and/or electric kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Read and follow instructions, recipes, and menu schedules
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
  • Interact courteously and effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff
  • Assist in inventory management and kitchen supply organization
