Job Requirements
- Two years prior food prep experience in a high-volume, fine dining kitchen
- culinary degree or training desired or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to perform basic math skills
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, recipes, BEOs and correspondence
- valid/current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- knowledge of applicable health standards
- ability to maintain clean appearance and professional demeanor
- flexible availability for varying shifts
- must complete required training as scheduled
Job Qualifications

- complete knowledge of food preparation, professional cooking and knife handling skills
- ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, recipes, BEOs and correspondence
- completes required training as scheduled
- work schedules may include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts
- must have valid/current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- must know and adhere to all applicable health standards
- must maintain clean appearance and professional demeanor with designated uniform
- flexible availability for varying shifts as needed by department manager
Job Duties
- Prepares, seasons and delivers various cold food products
- cooks soups, meats, vegetables and other food items according to company and Executive Chef standards
- prepares food items such as dressings, cold sauces, condiments, fruit and vegetable trays, cheese and meat platters, appetizers, canapes, cold hors d'oeuvres, salads as per company recipes
- reads and follows menu, recipe or banquet event orders (BEO) to estimate food requirements and requisitions food from storage
- slices or carves meats, cheese, poultry for cold food preparation
- assists with portioning food onto serving plates, adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- follows all standard food handling, sanitation and health department guidelines
- maintains equipment and work area in clean and organized manner
- reports unsafe conditions, needed maintenance, or accidents to management
