The Cook II role at Avion Hospitality plays a crucial part in maintaining the company's reputation for culinary excellence. This position involves supervising and assisting in the preparation of all food items for various outlets including the restaurant, dining outlet, cafe, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquets. The Cook II ensures that food items are prepared to the highest standards, producing dishes that are both appealing and appetizing. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of related experience, including supervisory roles, and hold a valid Food Handlers Certification compliant with state requirements. Job Requirements

  • Supervise and assist banquet food preparation
  • Lock storage areas when not in use
  • Maintain food quality standards and storage organization
  • Assist in staff training on kitchen equipment

  • Perform additional duties as requested

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of related progressive experience or culinary graduate with at least 1 year of progressive hotel experience
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Food Handlers Certification compliant with state requirements
  • Ability to convey information clearly
  • Strong problem solving and initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Basic financial literacy including arithmetic
  • Knowledge of menu items and preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with emergency hotel procedures

Job Duties

  • Supervise and assist in food preparation for restaurant and dining outlets including cafe room service employee cafeteria and banquets
  • Ensure completion of food and station preparations prior to operating hours
  • Maintain highest standards of efficiency productivity and quality during kitchen operations
  • Follow all standard recipes and banquet event orders accurately
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen and storage areas
  • Supervise buffet and kitchen line breakdown and proper storage of food and equipment
  • Ensure safe work habits are practiced and hotel policies enforced
