The Line Cook role at TPG Hotels, Resorts & Marinas involves the cost-effective preparation of quality food while adhering strictly to food safety, handling policies, brand standards, and all applicable regulations. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and coordinate timing with other kitchen staff to maintain quality and consistency. Line Cooks are responsible for preparing, cooking, portioning, and presenting dishes according to company recipes and standards. They must ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of their cooking station and assist in inventory management efforts by monitoring ingredient stock levels. The role demands a flexible, collaborative approach, the ability to adapt to various culinary tasks, and a commitment to ensuring food safety and sanitation at all times. Working conditions include physically demanding tasks such as extended standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working with kitchen equipment in an interior hotel environment. This position offers employment that may include flexible hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays, highlighting the dynamic and service-focused nature of hospitality work.

Job Requirements
- One or more years of previous experience as a line cook or similar culinary role is preferred
- High school education plus schooling in culinary arts or related major
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and food preparation methods
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet timing requirements

- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Job Duties
- Prepare and portion ingredients for various dishes following recipes and guidelines
- Cook and grill a diverse range of menu items including meats, seafood, vegetables, and sauces with precision
- Set up and organize the cooking station with necessary tools, equipment, and ingredients before service
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure all components of a dish are ready simultaneously maintaining efficiency
- Inspect ingredients and finished dishes for quality, taste, and appearance and address issues promptly
- Follow food safety and sanitation practices to prevent cross-contamination and health hazards
- Understand menu offerings including ingredients, preparation methods, and plating techniques and assist with updates
- Keep the cooking station clean and organized ensuring equipment and utensils are maintained
- Monitor ingredient levels and notify kitchen manager or chef of shortages
- Work closely with kitchen team maintaining effective communication and positive environment
- Be flexible and willing to take on different tasks or responsibilities as needed in a fast-paced environment
