The medical center is founded on the principles of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace and has been serving the community for nearly a century. Its mission integrates health, faith, conviction, and compassion to provide holistic care for the body, mind, and soul. This dedication extends beyond clinical treatment, encompassing education, prevention, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and overall wellness. Holy Name is a place where innovation drives every medical breakthrough and treatment, supported by some of the most skilled healthcare professionals who strive to ensure nothing is overlooked on the road to recovery.

Within this dynamic and mission-driven environment, the role of the Cook, 2nd position is pivotal in supporting the hospital's operations by contributing to the preparation of nutritious and quality meals for patients and staff. The cook is responsible for assembling supplies, setting up equipment, and maintaining an orderly kitchen environment to facilitate efficient meal service. Key responsibilities include ensuring that food is prepared according to established quality and nutritional guidelines, managing food displays on patient and cafeteria lines, and assisting in maintaining work areas, supplies, and equipment. The position demands attention to detail and collaboration with the Purchasing and Production Coordinators to address supply or equipment needs promptly.

This role requires familiarity with kitchen equipment, safe food handling practices, and compliance with hospital policies such as infection control, fire safety, and employee conduct. The successful candidate must demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and a willingness to participate in ongoing training and in-service meetings. The employment type at Holy Name includes full-time, part-time, and per diem options, with compensation ranging from $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, reflecting factors such as experience, education, skills, and internal equity considerations.

Holy Name recognizes the importance of investing in its employees beyond just a paycheck, offering a comprehensive benefits package that supports health, financial security, and work-life balance. This includes low-cost medical coverage with employer contributions, dental and vision insurance, discounted medication programs, on-site childcare, 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and more.
