We are currently seeking seasonal Cook 2’s to join our dynamic team at Comerica Park. This role is ideal for culinary professionals passionate about honing their skills and contributing to a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen atmosphere. As a Cook 2, you will take on the responsibility of preparing high-quality food in alignment with preset menus, ensuring that all health and sanitation standards are strictly upheld. You will be a visible leader in the kitchen, supporting fellow team members, troubleshooting challenges, and maintaining an organized, clean, and safe workspace that meets department rules and culinary standards.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs or more
  • Standing and walking for the entire length of shift in moderate to high noise levels
  • Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids and operate kitchen equipment
  • Exposed to variable temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house food-service position
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
  • ensuring proper food temperatures are maintained
  • food is stored correctly
  • the freshness and quality of all menu items
  • and packages all products to proper specifications
  • Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory in accordance with guidelines
