Invited is a leading company in the hospitality and service industry, widely recognized for operating over 130 private clubs nationwide, including country clubs, city clubs, and athletic clubs. Since its foundation in 1957, Invited has focused on building meaningful relationships and enriching the lives of its members, guests, and over 17,000 employees. The company prides itself on providing first-class amenities such as championship golf courses, modern workspaces, handcrafted cuisine, resort-style pools, state-of-the-art racquet facilities, and fitness centers, all designed to create an unparalleled club experience for its members. Invited's mission emphasizes inclusivity, excellence, and dedication to service, making it a premier destination for both employees and members alike.
The Cook 2 position at Invited is a vital role within the kitchen team, responsible for food preparation, workstation management, and ensuring that high standards of food quality and presentation are consistently met. This role surpasses the responsibilities of a Cook 1 by requiring a deeper understanding of culinary techniques and the ability to take on more complex tasks while supporting the leadership provided by Cook 3. As a Cook 2, you will work closely with your team, including Cook 1 and Cook 3 members, to coordinate kitchen operations and maintain seamless service.
In this role, you will be accountable for the set-up, daily food preparation, and overall organization of your designated work area. You will prepare and store various food items such as daily specials, salads, entrees, soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, and baked goods, adhering to established quality and presentation guidelines. Additionally, you will manage kitchen inventory by receiving and storing goods, monitoring supplies, and overseeing items used by other team members like condiments and dressings. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of your work area and common kitchen spaces is critical to upholding health and safety standards.
The Cook 2 will also assist in tasks such as cleaning kitchen equipment, supporting menu planning, recipe development, and testing new products. On occasion, you may prepare meals tailored to specific dietary needs or restrictions and take charge during shifts in the absence of supervisory team members. You will be expected to help train and supervise Cook 1 and other junior staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Professional and courteous interaction with members and guests is an essential part of the role, ensuring that all requests, including last-minute changes, are handled promptly and effectively.
Working at Invited means being part of a team that values professionalism, excellence, and continuous growth. Employees are encouraged to follow safe working practices, maintain their certifications, and engage actively in daily briefings to stay informed and contribute to the club’s success. The dynamic nature of the club environment requires flexibility and a willingness to assist others whenever necessary.
This position demands physical stamina, requiring you to stand, walk, and perform various physical activities for extended periods, as well as lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 100 pounds occasionally. Comfortable working in varying temperatures and environments with exposure to dust, fumes, or gases is part of the daily routine. Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are important qualities for success in this role.
Invited offers a professional and inclusive work environment where your contributions help create memorable experiences for members and guests. Joining Invited as a Cook 2 is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals who are committed to excellence, keen on professional development, and passionate about delivering high-quality food and service in an esteemed club setting.
