Job Description
This job opportunity is with an established foodservice operation that values quality, teamwork, and a strong work ethic in the kitchen. The company is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences through meticulous food preparation and maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards. With a competitive hourly wage of $17.70, this role is ideal for motivated culinary professionals who take pride in their craft and want to be an integral part of a dynamic kitchen team. The company fosters an inclusive work environment, encouraging diversity and equal opportunity employment, making it a supportive workplace where all employees can thrive and grow in their culinary careers.
The role of Cook is critical in the kitchen as you will be responsible for preparing food to precise quality and portion standards while partnering closely with management. This position requires a visible kitchen leader who can handle various kitchen equipment efficiently and ensure that all food items meet the set freshness and quality expectations. You will be accountable for reviewing menus and guest orders to determine the exact type and quantities of food to prepare, emphasizing accuracy and consistency in portion control. Your duties will include cooking, packaging, and maintaining standards to comply with health codes and sanitation regulations. The role also involves performing opening, closing, and side work duties to keep the kitchen operationally sound and organized throughout the shift.
You will need strong manual dexterity to chop, blend, and prepare a variety of food items while maintaining a clean and sanitized workstation. Physical stamina is essential as the job requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting heavy pans, and working with potentially hazardous kitchen equipment. The work environment can experience moderate to high noise levels and variable temperatures, reflecting the bustling atmosphere of a professional kitchen. This role is not just about technical cooking skills but also the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced setting while upholding safety and quality standards.
Ideal candidates should have at least two years of experience in a back-of-house foodservice position, and while formal culinary training is preferred, passion and the ability to follow recipes and prep sheets accurately with basic math skills are equally important. The employer offers a collaborative culture where team members support one another to achieve culinary excellence. If you are committed to delivering top-notch food service and eager to grow your skills in a structured yet vibrant kitchen environment, this Cook position provides an excellent opportunity to build your career with a company that invests in and values its employees.
