In this role, the Cook must handle various kitchen tools and equipment such as knives, slicers, whisks, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, and ovens to prepare an array of menu items. Maintaining proper food temperatures, storage methods, and freshness is essential to ensure the highest quality food delivery. The Cook must also be familiar with executing opening, closing, and side work tasks, contributing fully to the organization and cleanliness of their workstation, coolers, and other kitchen equipment. By upholding health codes and sanitation standards, the Cook supports a safe and efficient kitchen operation that meets or exceeds regulatory requirements.
Moreover, this role requires a minimum of two years’ experience in a back-of-house food service position, with participation in a culinary program being preferred. Strong comprehension skills relating to prep sheets and recipes are necessary, alongside basic math skills to calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions precisely. Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of previous experience in a back-of-house foodservice position
- participation in a culinary program preferred
- ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes

- manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, and whip a variety of foods and liquids
- ability to lift and carry large pans weighing up to 50 pounds
- ability to handle or operate dangerous kitchen equipment
- standing and walking for the entire shift
- frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at the waist, bending and squatting
- pushing and pulling occasionally to move equipment, mops, and brooms
- ability to work in moderate-to-high noise levels and variable temperatures
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Review menus and guest orders to determine the type and quantities of food to be prepared
- properly measure and portion all food items
- comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
- utilize kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as knives, slicers, whisks, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens
- ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly
- ensure freshness and quality of all menu items and package all products to proper specifications
- perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
- keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
- follow and uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations
- perform other duties assigned
