As a trusted leader in the senior care industry, Sunrise emphasizes creating meaningful connections, fostering independence, and promoting well-being among its residents. The company is widely recognized for its commitment to quality care, diversity, and inclusion, providing an enriching atmosphere where senior residents can thrive physically, emotionally, and socially. Sunrise Senior Living operates senior living communities across various locations and offers a range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident, ensuring a personalized approach to care. Employment at Sunrise comes with a supportive work culture where team members are valued, and their contributions significantly impact improving residents’ quality of life.

The role of Cook at Sunrise Senior Living is pivotal in delivering a high standard of culinary service that nourishes residents and enhances their dining experience. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals that adhere to standardized recipes and menus designed specifically to meet the dietary and health needs of senior residents. This position requires a meticulous approach to food preparation, ensuring that meals are not only delicious but also nutritious and aesthetically pleasing. Attention to food quality and safety is paramount, along with strict compliance to food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines.

In addition to meal preparation, the Cook plays an essential role in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Duties include stocking and rotating food supplies according to safety regulations, keeping detailed records of food production quantities and temperatures, and completing cleaning logs and equipment maintenance reports. The role may also involve supporting dishwashing and dining service activities when needed, as well as leading food production in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator. This leadership opportunity underscores the importance of teamwork and reliability within the kitchen staff.

The pay range for this position is competitive, falling between $15.20 and $19.05 per hour, reflecting the value Sunrise places on the quality and dedication of its culinary team. Employees at Sunrise Senior Living enjoy not only comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, but also retirement savings plans, employee assistance and discount programs, paid time off including sick and holiday pay, and unique perks like myFlexPay which allows you to get paid within hours of a shift. Further professional growth is encouraged through tuition reimbursement, and eligible employees may receive discretionary bonuses based on performance.

Joining the Sunrise Senior Living team means becoming part of a community where your work brings joy, comfort, and connection to seniors every day. It is an opportunity to grow your career in a workplace recognized as a certified Great Place to Work®, committed to diversity and inclusion, and dedicated to making a positive difference. If you are passionate about cooking and desire to contribute meaningfully to seniors’ lives by preparing meals that bring people together, this role offers a fulfilling and supportive environment to thrive and make a lasting impact.
