The Cook position at Sunrise Senior Living is a vital role that goes beyond simply preparing meals. Employment in this role is part-time or full-time with a competitive pay range of $18.50 to $23.25 per hour.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen preferred
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and dietary guidelines
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve meals according to standardized recipes and menus
  • ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet Sunrise standards
  • follow dietary modifications and special meal requirements
  • record production quantities and food safety temperatures
  • stock, rotate, date, and store food per safety regulations
  • maintain clean kitchen, storage, and equipment areas
  • complete cleaning logs and equipment maintenance reports
  • follow all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines
  • support dishwashing and dining service as needed
  • lead food production in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator
