Job Description

Regions Hospital is part of the HealthPartners Enterprise, an integrated nonprofit healthcare organization committed to providing exceptional health care services across Minnesota and Wisconsin. HealthPartners operates over 90 facilities, including hospitals and clinics, known for their commitment to high-quality patient care, innovative research, and community health advancement. Regions Hospital itself is a well-respected hospital within this network, offering a comprehensive range of medical and support services to meet the diverse needs of its patients and community.

At HealthPartners, inclusivity and diversity are core values. The organization fosters a welcoming environment where differences are valued and collaboration thrives. As a mission-driven healthcare provider, HealthPartners also emphasizes health equity, continuous education, and community partnership. Their dedication extends beyond the hospital walls through the HealthPartners Institute, advancing medical research and training future health professionals to improve health outcomes locally and globally.

The role of Cook at Regions Hospital is vital in supporting the hospital's mission by ensuring the delivery of high-quality and nutritious meals in a timely and efficient manner. This is a per diem position that requires flexibility, including working a minimum of four shifts per month with at least two weekend shifts, offering excellent work-life balance and competitive pay starting at $22.86 per hour. The pay is commensurate with prior culinary experience, emphasizing previous work in healthcare kitchens, restaurants, or catering environments with high-volume, high-quality food production.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking various food items to supply different serving lines within the hospital's kitchen and café. Your duties will also include ensuring all dishes, utensils, and work areas are kept clean and sanitized according to health and safety standards. This role demands professionalism in food handling, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Culinary education can substitute for one year of professional cooking experience, expanding opportunities for those with formal training.

Joining the Nutrition Services department at Regions Hospital means becoming part of a team that plays a critical role in patient care and overall hospital operations. You will contribute directly to the wellbeing of patients and staff by providing meals that meet dietary guidelines and satisfy diverse taste preferences. The position requires teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to upholding food quality and safety standards in a healthcare environment.

Working at HealthPartners comes with comprehensive benefits designed to support your total health, including health insurance, retirement planning, paid time off, and continuous learning opportunities. HealthPartners is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values all individuals regardless of race, sex, age, disability status, or any other protected classification. This ensures a respectful and inclusive workplace where your contributions are recognized and valued.

By joining Regions Hospital as a Cook, you are not only accepting a job but also becoming part of a respected healthcare institution dedicated to improving community health through excellent patient service and teamwork.
