Lifespace Communities, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, stands as one of the nation's largest nonprofit senior living organizations. For over 50 years, Lifespace has been dedicated to creating vibrant communities across the country where older adults are empowered to live their aspirations with purpose, independence, and peace of mind. Driven by a commitment to exceptional service, innovation, and meaningful connections, Lifespace employees work collaboratively to enrich the lives of residents every day. This nonprofit senior living organization emphasizes not only the well-being and comfort of its residents but also focuses on fostering a positive and engaging work environment for its team members. At Lifespace, professionals find more than just a career; they find an opportunity to make a lasting impact while advancing in a mission-driven setting that prioritizes growth and meaningful relationships.
The Craig, located at 5500 SW 9th Ave in Amarillo, Texas, is one of Lifespace’s luxurious senior living communities offering a refined dining experience. The community is currently hiring Line Cooks who will be pivotal in delivering this fine dining experience to its residents. In this role, team members can expect flexible scheduling options, avoiding late nights and rotating weekend shifts, and will benefit from daily pay options, generous paid time off, paid holidays, and growth opportunities including tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs.
As a Line Cook at The Craig, you will prepare all food items per menu requirements, ensuring that designated recipes are followed meticulously to maintain high-quality standards. The role involves preparing plates and garnishing them attractively for residents and guests, guaranteeing that each meal served meets a high standard of presentation and taste. Coordination with meal service hours is essential to preserve the quality, temperature, and appearance of food, making sure residents receive meals that are enjoyable and satisfying.
Food safety is paramount in this role, where monitoring of food temperatures and the appropriate use of food storage techniques in line with state and local regulations ensure a safe dining experience. The Line Cook is also expected to maintain their work area in a safe and sanitary condition, which may include cleaning cooking equipment and other kitchen areas as assigned. This role offers an excellent path for cooks who want to be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional dining experiences in a luxury senior living community while having opportunities for personal and professional development.
With Lifespace’s strong commitment to their team members' growth and success, Line Cooks at The Craig can expect a supportive work environment with benefits that enhance both work-life balance and career progression. This position offers a meaningful career path where one can grow, thrive through teamwork, and build lasting relationships while serving an important role in enriching senior residents’ quality of life through outstanding culinary service.
