This posting is for a Cook position located at the Kingston Residence of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals tailored to the nutritional needs and preferences of residents, contributing significantly to their health and well-being. The Cook will work closely under the guidance of the Food Service Manager, preparing fresh meals from scratch based on planned menus and established dietary guidelines. Attention to food safety and sanitation is critical in this role, as is fostering a positive dining atmosphere for residents.

The Cook's responsibilities extend beyond food preparation to include inventory assistance, proper food and supply storage, supervision of dietary staff in the manager's absence, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. Additionally, the role requires setting up meal service stations and utilizing technology and computerized systems to facilitate efficient meal service. Job Duties

  • Prepare fresh scratch-made meals using a recipe for residents according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
  • assist the Food Service Manager with inventory control and ordering supplies
  • properly store food and kitchen supplies to maintain freshness and prevent waste
  • supervise and support Dietary staff when the Food Service Manager is unavailable
  • set up breakfast bars, steam tables, and other meal service stations
  • maintain cleanliness in work areas and ensure all kitchen cleaning tasks are completed
  • prepare and stock snacks and standard pantry items for resident areas
  • utilize technology and computerized systems to efficiently and safely create a great dining experience for residents and families
