The role of a Cook at Sunrise Senior Living is a vital position within the dining services team that significantly impacts the residents' daily experience. Beyond meal preparation, the Cook supports food safety protocols, including proper stock management, food rotation, recording production quantities, and maintaining food safety temperatures. There is also a leadership element involved when stepping in for the Dining Services Coordinator, making the position essential for the daily coordination of meal production. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior cooking experience preferred
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 50 pounds
- adherence to food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve meals according to standardized recipes and menus
- ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet Sunrise standards
- follow dietary modifications and special meal requirements
- record production quantities and food safety temperatures
- stock, rotate, date, and store food per safety regulations
- maintain clean kitchen, storage, and equipment areas
- complete cleaning logs and equipment maintenance reports
- follow all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines
- support dishwashing and dining service as needed
- lead food production in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator
