The role of Cook at Forefront is vital to maintaining the quality standards necessary for patient safety and satisfaction. This position involves preparing meals in compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations, along with adhering to established policies and procedures. The Cook collaborates closely with the Chef Manager and Director to ensure all food preparation, presentation, and serving standards are met. Responsibilities include following standardized recipes and portion control, using daily production worksheets and waste logs, and tasting meals to guarantee quality. Additionally, the Cook must monitor the temperature of foods throughout preparation and service to maintain safety standards. Communication plays a key part in the role as Cooks must promptly inform management of supplies, equipment needs, or any unsafe conditions.

This position also demands strict adherence to health and sanitation regulations, with compliance verified through health department and third-party audits. The Cook is entrusted with multiple other duties as directed by management and is responsible for acting in conformance with all facility policies covering human resources, ethics, health and safety, compliance, patient rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA. Active participation in department meetings and ongoing professional development are also expected. Paid hourly at a range of $18 to $23 based on experience, this role offers meaningful work in a setting that values the impact of good nutrition on healing and comfort. Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • minimum one year food service experience preferred
  • have general knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving

  • must be patient and tolerant toward staff, patients, and family members
