Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown into the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is renowned for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences, and its mission centers around inspiring people to improve their lives. With a strong commitment to family values and community impact, Panda Restaurant Group has established itself as a leader in the fast-casual dining industry. This company prides itself on cultivating a vibrant workplace culture where team members are empowered and motivated to excel.
The role of a Panda Cook is integral to the success of the restaurant. The cook is a leader within the kitchen team, central to creating an atmosphere filled with passion, service, and pride. Employed in a fast-paced, growth-oriented setting, the Panda Cook supports the preparation of food that meets the company’s high standards and recipes. This position not only involves cooking but also mentoring and guiding other kitchen staff, ensuring all back-of-house responsibilities are executed efficiently. The role demands a commitment to quality, teamwork, and a welcoming environment for guests.
Cooks at Panda are expected to prepare dishes consistently and maintain compliance with food safety standards, including local or municipal Food Handler certification. This job requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working quickly while maintaining accuracy, often in a kitchen setting where steam and food vapors create heat and limited space. Experienced cooks benefit from hands-on training and are provided ongoing leadership development opportunities, with pathways for growth into management positions. This role offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision coverage, a 401K plan with company match, paid time off, and more. Panda Restaurant Group is dedicated to equality and diversity in the workplace, ensuring reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The company fosters a supportive environment where everyone is respected and valued, making it a great place for individuals seeking a meaningful and rewarding culinary career in the restaurant industry.
