Job Description

This opening is with a dynamic restaurant establishment that prides itself on delivering quality food products and a superior dining experience to its patrons. As a cook with this company, you will join a dedicated team that values precision, consistency, and excellence in food preparation and customer service. The company operates in a fast-paced environment where every team member plays a crucial role in maintaining operational standards and customer satisfaction. They foster a collaborative working environment and are committed to compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as continuous improvement in food handling techniques and service delivery.

The Cook position is a vital role focused on cooking, preparing, and packaging food products in accordance with the company's operational and quality standards. This role reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD) and is designated as nonexempt, highlighting its nature as an hourly position with part-time employment status. Candidates can expect to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to serving customers during peak periods.

In this position, the cook is expected to operate various kitchen stations such as the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations, each essential for different components of meal preparation. Attention to detail is critical, as the cook must consistently comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards to ensure the highest quality of output and safety standards. Routine cleaning and sanitation duties are integral to this role, including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease. These tasks help maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen atmosphere, essential in any food service environment.

Additional responsibilities include responding to and reporting customer or employee complaints or issues to the Manager on Duty, moving and stocking food products weighing up to 50 pounds, and performing any other job-related duties as assigned or required. The nature of this role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to follow directions precisely, multitasking capabilities, and the stamina to work in an environment that involves continuous physical activity such as standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting.

Working as a cook in this restaurant offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills, engage with a team-oriented culture, and gain valuable experience in the food service industry. The role is perfect for those passionate about food preparation and eager to contribute to a high-standard kitchen operation while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workspace. This part-time position is ideal for individuals looking to balance work with other commitments while building their career in hospitality.
