We are currently seeking a talented Cook to join our dynamic team. This full-time role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen within a skilled nursing and assisted living environment. As a Cook at Elkhorn Healthcare and Rehab, you will play a leadership role by working closely with the dietary director, dietary assistant, dietary aides, and other kitchen staff. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around the timely preparation of meals according to approved menus and dining schedules, all while adhering to federal, state, and local standards for food safety and quality within healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong time management skills and attention to detail in food handling, preparation, and storage. You will be responsible for overseeing key kitchen functions such as pulling and properly storing meats, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to established cleaning schedules, and maintaining important temperature logs. This role not only demands culinary skills but also requires a commitment to health and safety protocols to support the wellbeing of residents. Job Requirements

  • must hold a valid food handlers permit
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience as a cook or similar role
  • experience working in a skilled nursing facility is a plus
  • ability to adhere to health and safety regulations
  • capable of working flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends
  • ability to work in person at Clancy, MT location

Job Qualifications

  • valid food handlers permit
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience as a cook or in a similar culinary role
  • familiarity with working in a skilled nursing facility is a plus
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to manage multiple tasks under time constraints

Job Duties

  • prepare meals in a timely manner consistent with the posted dining schedule and approved menus
