We are currently seeking a hospitality-focused Cook to join our Community Culinary Services Department. This full-time position, with hours from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM including weekend availability, offers a competitive pay range of $15 to $18 per hour. The Cook position plays an essential role in the culinary team, responsible for the full scope of hands-on production cooking within the community. The ideal candidate is passionate about food preparation and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation, and presentation in meal production. This role not only ensures that dietary and nutritional requirements are meticulously met in compliance with local regulations but also fosters a welcoming and positive dining experience for our senior residents. The Cook will be actively involved in producing menu cycle programs, evaluating food services through direct resident interaction, and supporting meal service and kitchen cleaning processes, all while upholding Brandon Wilde’s high standards of operational organization and customer service. This position also functions as an ambassador of the community, contributing to an inviting atmosphere that positively reflects the values and warmth of Brandon Wilde. Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum of one year cooking experience in restaurant or senior living
- Ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Flexible to work full-time hours including weekends
- Ability to pass preemployment screening process including physical, background check, drug test, and references
- Committed to providing compassionate senior care and hospitality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Culinary degree preferred
- Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent cooking experience
Job Duties
- Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization
- Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times
- Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required nutritional/dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per policy and procedure
- Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency
- Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production
- Assist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary
- Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service such as quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance
- and conduct evaluations to make revisions in operations / procedures to promote improved food service
- Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment
- Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy
