Job Description

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is a respected religious organization dedicated to teaching and sharing the Catholic faith, serving the community, and fostering unity throughout the St. Louis area. Known for its strong commitment to spiritual leadership and community support, the Archdiocese operates from the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO, which serves as its headquarters and curia – the governing body for the Archdiocese. The center, which was once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, now plays an essential role in the administration and outreach efforts of the Archdiocese. This institution deeply values the well-being and care of its retired priests, offering a safe and welcoming space for them to live in community.

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is currently seeking a Cook to join its kitchen team based at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO. This is an on-site position that provides an opportunity for culinary professionals or enthusiasts to develop their creativity and skills in a supportive and faith-driven environment. The successful candidate will work closely with an executive chef who brings decades of experience and passion for cuisine, offering the chance to learn, grow, and collaborate in preparing a variety of dishes.

The role is centered on serving the retired priests of the Archdiocese, preparing and cooking meals that balance classic favorites with new creations. The Cook will be responsible for ensuring that meals are cooked to high standards, presented attractively, and delivered on time. The environment is friendly and dedicated, with a strong focus on teamwork and community spirit.

This role offers flexibility in scheduling, available as either full-time or part-time, with shifts typically lasting 10 hours. Meals and uniforms are provided to employees, and competitive hourly compensation is offered. Furthermore, employees are eligible for an attractive benefits package from day one of hire, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and participation in a 403B retirement plan. The Archdiocese values a diverse and inclusive workplace, actively seeking individuals who are compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to excellent customer service.

Working at the Archdiocese of St. Louis means becoming part of a unique community that is not only diverse in talent but unified in purpose. The organization emphasizes work-life balance and provides flexible work options to help employees thrive both professionally and personally. Joining this team means contributing to an environment of support, service, and culinary excellence, enhancing the quality of life for the retired priests and embodying the Archdiocese’s mission of care and compassion.
