The position of Cook at Sodexo within Central Oregon Community College is a full-time role, offering an hourly wage between $20.00 and $22.00. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation following food safety and sanitation protocols
- Stand and walk for extended periods, often exceeding eight hours during a shift
- Perform repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, stooping, pushing and/or pulling, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally move 50 pounds
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
